Tea tree essential oil comes from the Melaleuca family of trees that are largely native to Australia.
Aboriginal Australians have been using these plants for thousands of years as food, shelter & medicine. A favourite food being the honey collected from bee hives in melaleuca forests. Oh, and tea.
The name Tea Tree is said to come from the use of melaleuca leaves to make tea on the 1770 voyage of the Endeavour. Apparently, Captain Cook saw the Aboriginal Australians making it & since they had run out of tea, they thought it would be a grand idea.
Tea Tree has powerful anti-fungal, anti inflammatory & antiseptic properties. It was widely used as a medicine before antibiotics gained popularity. Tea Tree has a unique scent that is reminiscent of eucalyptus – it smells like clean & fresh combined in one. It is also considered a relaxant & can help ease the troubles of a busy mind & induce a feeling of restfulness. Uses.
Bespoke: Tea Tree adds the smell of Australia to everything. It will also help clear the mind and relax the soul. Mostly used in soaps and hair products, consider it in our lotions and cremes for a clean, crisp & unique experience.
Vaporiser: Start with 6 to 8 drops.
Diffuser: Start with 6 to 8 drops.
Burner: Start with 6 to 8 drops.
Bath: Add 8 to 12 drops to your bath.
Shower: 3 or 4 drops in the corner of the shower.
Sauna: Add 6 to 8 drops to your ladle of water and pour over hot rocks.
Hands & feet: Add 2 to 4 drops to a bowl of warm water and soak.
On the go: Open the cap and inhale straight from the bottle or add a drop or two to your face mask.
Bed: Add a couple of drops to your pillow.
